Thank you! That appears to be the kind, at least of the last fern I took a picture of.
I added a couple more views of what I believe is the same butterfly, taken in the same photo shoot.
I was wondering if it was a black swallowtail...but the spots look different to me. I know it would help to have a photo of the other side of the wings, too.
