Sign In to followI love Australia's biodiversity, how difficult would it be to get a VISA to live there?
Jesus, any animal that will stand up to a freaking wedge tail has my respect.
Haha, I always said if I wasn't American I'd be Australian, I first heard it used by Steve Irwin, and loved it so I use it a lot.
Good to hear. She'll be right in the end :)
I definitely see the resemblance to the quoll. It's interesting to see the Native perspective to what are (for me) exotic animals, maybe it's because Americans have only really been exposed to brushtails because of memes comparing our possum species, but brushtails are VERY popular here.
Yeah our possums don't get much love (being uglier than Australian possums) but they do a lot of good :)
Honestly the flooding here gets pretty common during this time of year, but not this bad. Our town is nestled next to a major river that runs through our State, a city further up has had similar problems to yours, being an industrial town the water was polluted and very dangerous. I'm sorry for your loss :(
That's insane. Right now the yard is full of fish and birds eating the fish, I couldn't imagine a shark lol
Hi Brad, I think you're right, when I was IDing this species I figured it was a native species and only found rivercane and is subspecies, I didn't think of naturalized species. Phyloostachys nuda or nude sheathe bamboo does seem like the most likely of the canditates, and yes it was found in a forested area near my sister's home.
