These snakes can bite, but in general they are very docile animals and very rarely attempt to bite humans.
Thank you all so much! I am glad these plants are so appreciated here. I am also very honored to be a part of a community who truly cares for the worlds flora and fauna!!
Nice spot! These strange but adorable amphibians spend most of their time underground, so finding them without actively searching for them is a rare event.
Thank you all! It was amazing to see so many of them doing so well in this particular bog. Armadeus, nectar is produced by glands around the top of the pitcher, luring animals to the opening with its sweet smell. However, I took a whiff of one and didn't smell anything. Perhaps my senses are not strong enough :)
Looks like a dragonfly larva...
I love seeing them as well!! They are so beautiful and always fun to find for sure!!
Thank you Marta! These guys are always very exciting to find. It is relatively easy to find them in their larval stage, but much harder once they are juveniles/adults!!
Incredible spotting and photos! Congratulations, well deserved SOTD!!!
Thank you PucaK for the ID! Looks spot on, just sad it is not a native!
