Black-Chinned Hummingbird

Description:

This bird, and mate (last photo above), are frequent visitors to our feeder. They 'share' the feeder with Annas and Broadtails...and this time of year there is constant activity. This species (male) is characterized by an almost black chin and neck, with a metallic blue lower gorget, as well as a white collar...per the photos.

Habitat:

Urban area in the Mojave Desert.
