Anas platyrhynchos
Momma Mallard duck was taking a break from the nest and caught her at the wall by the bushes where she made her annual nest. The nest has 5 eggs in it and will most definitely as quite some more.. She let me approach a bit, buy flew off to the creek below for a snack.. She's been here before..
The nest is located under the bushes at the corner of a busy Diner in Northern NJ. Amazing that she pisked this spot, if it works, why not?? No other predators dare come this close to humans I guess..
Will try to upload the hatch as it grows and moves out in the coming weeks..

Thanks Argybee & Alice
I will watch for the babies!
Nice story. Maybe the duck could do your typing. :)
Sorry about the typos.. Damn fingers.. Haha..!
Yea.. Short story.. I used to work in that Diner 25 years ago.. I remember duck nest in that spot from back then.. I guess it's a multi-generation occurrence and I'm not being along it up for the comments either.. There where years that we had to get duckling out of trouble cause they would get stuck in the fence or at a drain box...
Wow - I hope they are safe. It looks like a very built-up area. Still she has been successful before so here's hoping. Looking forward to the rest of the story.
