Lambdina pellucidaria
Pale moth with a thin brown curved line on backs of lower wings. Wingspan just under 2 inches. Sits still when potential threat approaches (in this case, me), relying on camouflage. It looks convincingly like a dead leaf or piece of bark and is easy to overlook. This kind of moth is common around here.
My yard. Fluttered around porch light, then settled itself on the ground among leaves and debris, with wings outspread.
Not entirely certain of species ID. There seems to be a lot of color variation among Lambdina species.
