This small, sparrow-sized finch is heavily streaked below and brown and tan patterned above with a yellowish tint. Wing feathers are yellowish.

This particular siskin was in a mixed flock of black-capped chickadees and common redpolls. I had a lot of fun photographing all three on this day.

I love these little birds. Last winter our flocks of Pine Siskins were joined by a few Common Redpolls, which are not common here!
