Wattle ladybug mimic

Peltoschema oceanica

Description:

About 5mm long looking very much like some of our ladybugs.

Habitat:

On Acacia dealbata in a local nature reserve near Philby's place.

Notes:

This one fell down from an acacia we were sitting under onto my hand. I tried to bury into the grooves between my fingers.
Could be confused with the Variable ladybird which varies enough to cover this appearance.

Being Chrysomelidae it's a strict vegetarian (maybe even vegan lol)

Great pics Mark. Does it feed on aphids like the ladybirds?
