Coracias caudatus
Lilac-breasted rollers are a brightly colored bird usually found in treeless areas throughout sub-Saharan Africa. Their name comes from their breathtaking courtship flight, a shallow dive from a high elevation with a rolling or rocking motion and raucous calls.

Thank you KarenLockyear! It's beautiful.
Finished the painting and sent you an email. Thanks again!
Wonderful! Thank you very much! I will indeed send you a pic when I'm done.
Hi KarenLockyear, feel free! Would you please send me a link to the completed project when you're done? Thank you! (Contact me at savemacritchie@gmail.com.)
duttagupta, not sure whether you saw my previous comment - this is such a lovely photo! Thank you for posting it. Would you mind if I painted it for personal use and possibly to sell prints?
Thanks! I never got into painting, but I used to make color pencil drawings of birds similar to the illustrations in field guides.
I paint mostly in acrylics, but I'd like to expand into oils as well. I've always been an occasional hobbyist; recently I've begun pursuing it more seriously. And btw, your photos are lovely - that fairy duster shot in particular is stunning.
What medium do you use?
Thank you!
I don't have the best photos, but you can paint any of my spottings. Just don't display the original pictures.
Gorgeous photo! Would you mind if I painted this photo for display and possibly sale?
So do I. :)
I love the colors on these.
Real nice shot!
Thank you Desmond.E.S.O!
