Sundathelphusa sp
Medium sized crab, around 8 cm carapace size. Very brightly colored - purple/orange.
High altitude, around 1,000 masl
New Organism to Project Noah. Although this species is not listed in the endangered list, but its possibly an undescribed species which could also be rare. I have changed the location to Manila, Philippines to avoid disclosing the exact location.

Thanks, @Andrea :)
Wow, fantastic colours!
Thanks for your detailed observation, @Jellis.
The brownish stuff on the carapace is the slime among the rocks where I found it. And yea, I think the eye sockets looks different in size.
Its probably from the genus Insulamon, a few species of Insulamon sp were newly discovered in Palawan Island, Philippines in 2012 and one of them was also purple in color but looks different from this one.
closest I've see is this Malagasy freshwater crab (Madagapotamon humberti) but it is in the family of one.
Nice crab, but does it look like it has a crack on the right side of the top? The eye socket on the left is slightly different then the one on the right.
Thanks, @Desmond
Nice Shots!
Thanks, @emilybelle.mail :)

Thanks, @Reza and @Nayeli :)
There were 4 newly described species of fresh water crabs from Philippines in 2012, all of them from Palawan island but from lowland. One of them was a purple-colored crab, but its different from this one.
Its nice to see there are several different brilliantly colored crabs from the Philippines :)
Nice mix of colors!
Beautiful spotting as always Albert !
