Pacific Forktail (Feeding)

Ischnura cervula

Description:

Gray damselfly with turquoise underside, green eyes and pale abdomen was feeding on an insect. Video shows it eating.

Habitat:

Grassy area along trail at Lake Hodges

Emma, The more I look at this, the more I think you're right about the Pac Forktail. I've submitted it to BugGuide although I'm not sure a species level ID can be given from this one angle.

Hi Emma, thank you for the link! I see which one you're referring to. I've never seen that color combo. Cool! ;)
This one didn't have the color spots above the eyes so I'm not sure that it's the Pac Forktail. I wish I could have got other angles but it took off when I tried.

Pacific Fork tail Damsel flies seem to have turquoise in them.

So lucky,they get to sway in the wind.
I just found a link with some interesting facts.
Male and Female we know are of different colors. But i also found that some young male adults have a different coloration and could look like the females. And even more astonishing was the fact that damselflies are of a different color when they are hot or cold.
