Caltha leptosepala ssp. howellii
I was almost stunned when I came across these beautiful wildflowers. Alpine Marsh Marigold are a fairly low growing wildflower with pure white petals and yellow anthers. The leaves are a shiny green, heart shaped and slightly toothed.
Spotted growing in the Cascade mountains at about 3500 ft. in a snow run-off bog.
Also known as Howell's marsh marigold. (In the Buttercup Family)
