Bean Leaf Beetle

Ceratoma trifurcata

Description:

Head black and small. Pronotum red. Elytra red with black triangle, pointed posteriorly at the base of the midline, three pairs of black spots on either side of the midline, and a black line near each lateral margin.

Habitat:

Urban garden. Found in patch of domestic beans.

Notes:

These beetles arrived in large numbers and did substantial damage to both bean and bean leaves.
