A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Icterus galbula
Finally the male Baltimore Oriole came close enough and landed in an open enough spot for a slightly decent photo. He is getting the caterpillars that are on this Hackberry tree. He is nesting in the area.
Nest is in a riparian hardwood forest.
The Hackberry trees are in my back garden. The garden is about half an acre of native plants specifically planted for wildlife. The main water source is a pond that is filtered by two gravel streams. It is on a peninsula by Lake Lewisville Lake TX.
