Wingspan 17-23 mm; Colors vairy from khaki to chocolate brown. The wings are intricate in pattern and shape and are laying flat.
Most of North America except Alberta and the arctic; wet open areas and waste places were food/plants grow.
Season - Adults fly from May to October in Ontario, March to November in northeastern states, and all year in Texas and the west. Food - Larvae feed on Polygonum species (knotweed, smartweed). Life Cycle - two or more generations per year
