Green Scarabs

Diphucephala sp.

Description:

Small highly metallic scarab type beetles with dented thorax cover. About 12mm long. White setae under thorax and abdomen.

Habitat:

On leaves of Pomaderris plant in nature reserve.

Notes:

Not big enough for a Christmas beetle - Boxing Day beetle? I noted that the images from northern parts don't show as much fur underneath. There are scores of species with almost no visual differences so genus will have to do here. http://bie.ala.org.au/species/urn:lsid:b...

A nice beetle Mark. They are sometimes quite common.
