Trichoglossus haematodus
Multicoloured, medium sized parrot with distinct bright blue head, orange breast, green back and red beak. Generally gregarious but occasionally solitary browsers of nectar. Possibly a male due to more orange than yellow on breast.
Common in leafy, green urban habitat, woodland, coastal bush and forest on eastern coast of Australia.
Not as confident a feeder the the Little Wattle Birds seen seen feeding at this tree throughout the day, and seem more habituated to human presence. Nonetheless I was able to quietly make my presence nearby known without disturbing it. Feeding on nectar of pink flowering Eucalyptus ficifolia.
