Yellow Stingray

Urobatis jamaicensis

Habitat:

Sedentary bottom-dweller in relatively shallow water (to 80 feet) near reefs, where it lies partially buried in sand and digs for burrowing invertebrates using its pectoral fins

Notes:

These seem quite common here in the sea grass beds near shore. I often see a few when I snorkel here every year.
