Spotted Flower Chafer

Description:

About 20mm long. Several of these were found on each of several flowers.

Habitat:

On melaleuca in a local nature reserve.

Notes:

They appear in numbers suddenly then equally suddenly they are gone.

Hi dotun55. I can't regard a creature in it's natural range a pest. It's usually when humans take them elsewhere or alter a natural ecosystem that they get called pests. :-) Nice to find you on flickr - have a great 2014 !!
