False Turkey Tail

Description:

Don't be deceived by this fungus, it is not a polypore, but a crust fungi. Similar looking to Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor), this fungus can be distinguished mainly by the lack pore surface on the underside, which is smooth. Sorry, no images of the underside.

Habitat:

Temperate forest. Growing on a log.
