Red-bellied Woodpecker

Description:

Whitish face, red over the top of his head and a checkered black and white back. Very common in our area. Taken from quite a distance and a favorite hammering place for the woodpeckers and Pileated.

Habitat:

I have seen their nests high up in the Palm trees here in our development.
