Habitat:

Area with a lot of Hackberry trees.

Notes:

Adults mainly perch on trees or other objects well off the ground, and prefer sap and rotting fruit, rarely visiting flowers. Males are pugnacious, darting out at other butterflies and insects invading their territory. Hackberry trees are their larval food plant.
