Mouring Dove

Zenaida macroura

Description:

I captured this photo today when I came home from College. I stayed outside and watched and found this congregation of Mourning Doves. They are a slightly beigeish brown color with black spots near tips of wings, and have black tail feathers. They make a sort of twittering sound when they get startled in flight. They also flap so hard you can here their wings pop.

Habitat:

Urban areas, in backyards, and in parks and places all over.
