Tiphiid Wasp (♂)

Description:

About 30mm long overall. Mostly black with fine pale setae around head and thorax; abdomen had several fine white bands on shiny black and was somewhat dorso-ventrally flattened; femurs part reddish-brown.

Habitat:

Exploring the newer leaves of Olearia sp. in a local nature reserve

Notes:
