Leaf Gall insect

Description:

Small pyramid leaf galls. There were numerous tiny insects associated with these galls when I cut some open. They contain little keratin and appeared to have very limited development.

Thanks for your comments. Lori, the camera is a toy digital microscope made by traveler and sold (sometimes) by Aldi. It is easily manipulated but has dreadful DOF. Mark, I've seen similar hemipteran bugs in other galls and lerps http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/866... http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/877...

Great shots martin. I guess they didn't think they needed much keratin (until you came along :)

Wow. That's quite the tiny little critter. What lens were you using?
