Well your first ID gave us the lead to find the right one (hopefully!).
I've checked BugGuide but it seems that the endangered one is another one (their comment is quite confusing because the Green Spinx is a different species Tinostoma smaragditis)- and that our one is rather common.. :-/
It's beautiful anyways!

Nice one on the correct identification CERCOPAN. I've deleted my suggestion because it was clearly wrong.
Incidentally, I read on the Bug Guide website that the Daphnis nerii is a very rare and endangered moth so major Kudos on the spot.

Thanks for the ID! I made some research with this info and it seems that Pandorus Sphinx is only found in North America. I then came across a very similar one found in Africa: Oleander Hawk-moth (Daphnis nerii), I assume this would be the one!
