Agriocnemis femina
This is a damselfly that i found in my backyard. It is a half-mature female of Agriocnemis femina. Most of it body is green-black, with some red marking on it thorax and the tip of it abdomen. The size of this damselfly is about 15 mm in length.
- Around the pond and garden.
- Agriocnemis femina is a damselfly in family Coenagrionidae. It is a confusing species because of colour changes with maturity. The immature male is green and orange, but as they grow older they become darker and the thorax becomes covered with a white growth called pruinescence, and the orange at tip of its abdomen fades. Females may be olive green or red and vary in the markings on the thorax. Thanks to Mr. C.Y. Choong for the ID. - http://odonata-malaysia.blogspot.com/sea...
