Leaf Beetle

Paropsisterna octomaculata

Description:

This bright orange beetle is in fact endemic to the northern half of Australia. The four black marks make it appear like a large ladybird beetle and are responsible for its name.

Notes:

The name 8-maculata had me confused but seems to be shorthand for octomaculata. This beetle is listed again to compare with the following variation. http://www.bowerbird.org.au/observations...
