Ledromorpha planirostris
Found on a Scribbly-gum trunk in the sun in a coastal dry woodland
Thanks Mark and martin. The tree species is listed somewhere I think, have to check, I took photographs and did some research although I had a third Eucalypt species that looks similar Eucalyptus haemastoma? anyway the fly is a bit of a scene stealer so I may enter them without it (all this homework!) ;-P
Oh, yes, the scribbles are by a moth, scribbly moth Ogmograptis sp. It is a bark miner. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/172... They live on Eucalyptus sclerophylla or E. racemosa
You can count the tree too, you must list this image two more times
There is now another entry for the fly Lauren. Thank you. I didn't see the hopper until long after the image was processed and uploaded
Looks like this one: http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_...
Amazing. How did you see that?
Wow! I didn't even see the plant hopper! It looks like a fossil, can't believe that it is real! Love the fly too!
