barn swallow feeding young

Hirundo rustica

Description:

a nest in a downtown area - common dark blue swallow with rusty undersides. According to the all about birds site, I have at least another full week of watching the hatchlings as they're in the nest 15-27 days http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/barn_...

Habitat:

downtown

Notes:

Notice how mom stops to check me out even before feeding(second picture is actually the first of the series). The chicks haven't shown that much obvious growth in the last two days, but their eyes are open and they seem to be taking in their surroundings now
