Lime Hawk-moth

Mimas tiliae

Description:

We found this moth sleeping on a vending machine. The colors look like it should be nicely camouflaged on the bark of planes trees (sycamore), but a cursory search on the internet turned up no direct connections.

Habitat:

Suburban carwash along arterial lined with Tilia (big-leaf linden) trees
