Japanese White-eye

Zosterops japonicus

Description:

Green, yellow and grey bird with a white eye ring. Originally introduced to Oahu in 1929, is now found on every island. Initially it was thought as not a threat to native species, but it is now seen as invasive since it not only competes with native species, but also is a vector for avian parasites and spreads invasive plant species seeds.
