Talaurinus sp
Very tough looking weevil, with one species (T.fergusoni) being described as the hardest beetle in "A Guide to the Beetles of Australia". Short, broad snout with elbowed antennae; black colouration with some tiny white spots on flanks and legs; small spines on elytra, which become longer and pointier towards the back half.
Found on ground, in coastal scrub with plenty of Maleleuca trees.
