Gestating Timber Rattlesnakes

Description:

A couple of boulders stacked, an east-ward facing slope, and a bunch of other girls is all a snake could ask for while gestating. Rock-on-rock scenarios allow them to bask in the morning and remain hidden during the day, safe, while absorbing heat and keeping their metabolism up. Following a couple-year cycle, females will spend an entire summer in one small area while pregnant before dropping their (live) young. The next year or two they will spend hunting and building back up their body fat. This particular gestation site had 9 visible snakes, ranging in size and color.

Habitat:

The ideal gestation site has a clear view of the sky, especially in the warming, morning light. Commonly, the snakes will enjoy coiling in
