Eupholidoptera chabrieri

Description:

Eupholidoptera chabrieri is a species of katydids or bush-cricket in the family Tettigoniidae. Female (pics 1 to 3), is slightly larger than the male and has a very long, slightly curved ovipositor of some 2.5 cm in length. It has mainly brown coloured body about 4 cm long, with black patterns on pronotum and hind legs, with bright yellow line on the edge of pronotum plate. Very long and elegant hind legs. Male (Pics 4 and 5) is slightly smaller

Habitat:

Observed in mediterranean maquis, in house and on terrace bordering the vineyards. Seen few times at dusk or in the night, on famous "Dingač" vineyard slopes of Pelješac peninsula of Dubrovnik riviera.
