Description:

Shikras, one of the birds of prey exhibit sexual dimorphism with males having red iris and females yellow (as seen in the image). A classic characteristic to differentiate between the two.

Habitat:

A resident bird spotted in most parts of India, with its habitat ranging from densely forested areas to large cities. Photographed this individual at Little Rann Of Kutch which comprises of saline mudflats, marshes, scrubland and large seasonal wetlands.
