Sibine stimulea
Family: Limacodidae. Moth of the same name. (Slug-packsaddle caterpillars) Primarily green with brown (light or dark) at either end. White-ringed brown "dot" resembles a saddle. 2 fake eyes at rear. Mimics a thorn. Feeds on variety of plants. Found on Winged Burning Bush. Hairs secret an irritating venom. Stings can be very painful and cause allergic reactions.
Yards on various trees and shrubs. Range: Eastern North America
DO NOT HANDLE! Found naturally in the bushes. People think this looks like a dog with a sweater, candy, sushi.
