House Mouse

Mus musculus

Description:

Small, furry but the tail lacks fur...may have hairs instead.

Habitat:

On the landing of a staircase. Deceased. With no obvious injury marks. Never seen this species anywhere near my house earlier...the ones I have seen are bandicoot rats and shrews. It has been raining heavily and I wonder if it came in because the burrows'dens were flooded.

Notes:

Dead animal postings should be avoided but there is nothing disturbing about this picture, looks like it is sleeping.
