Tadorna ferruginea
I came across these two ducks at our local beach yesterday. They are quite a distinctive rusty brown colour with black beaks, creamy white colour on the top of their heads and the end of their wings, and black tail feathers.
There is an inlet from the sea that goes to a small marina and this is where I spotted these two. I regularly visit this area and have not seen any ducks like this here before, so I am not sure if they are on migration and stopped off here.
