Strymon bazochii

Description:

Strymon bazochii is a small butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. It has a distinctive shape with shades of brown. Wings have a white margin and a wingspan of 22–25 mm. Adults are on wing from May to December.

Habitat:

Spotted at the McAllen Nature Center.

Notes:

Adults feed on nectar from various flowers. The larvae feed on Lippia alba and Lippia graveolens in Texas. In Hawaii, they feed on Lantana species and basils.
