Varied Thrush

Ixoreus naevius

Description:

I have lived here my whole life and never noticed these birds before! I think it was due to joining Project Noah which made me more conscious of nature around me! It is a migratory bird, moving to lower elevation in the winter.

Habitat:

Nests in Alaska, Canada and mountains in Oregon and Washington. Prefers moist conifer forest.

Notes:

Picture 3 is very grainy and I was wondering if I could get some tips on avoiding this. I have been trying to get picture of hummingbirds also and they are either too grainy or dark... Am I setting too low of a ISO setting?

Shanna, I really enjoyed the conversations below! Everyone provided great insight. Like, not being too critical of your work even though it's hard not to :P
