I have sent an ID request to a couple of millipede specialists.
They have confirmed that this species is under the Zephronidae family.
Possible genera are Castanotherium sp. and Sphaeropoeus sp.

I am suggesting that it is from the Zephronidae family.
Zephronidae pill millipedes are larger, have 12 body segments and found in Southeast Asia.

Speaking of iPod I think this is an Isopod.

Ooooo, a centipede problem. That sucks. Some have a very nasty sting and although I've been bitten and stung by tons of things in the rainforest, so far I have managed to avoid a centipede sting. Knock on wood!

Welcome, D. I didn't seen any insects that large in Hawaii, although I've heard that there is a centipede "problem" in some areas.

Thanks K! Do they have anything like these in Hawaii?
