Description:

Family: Noctuidae, Subfamily: Cuculliinae (Hooded Owlets) A common moth caterpillar aka Brown-bordered Cucullia. Size: 2.50 inches long (6.35 cm) Feeds on mostly asters and goldenrod and other low plants.

Habitat:

Border or meadow and woodlands with abundant flowers and weeds and low trees and plants near water.

Notes:

The 4th photo is the first photo I took and the position I found the caterpillar in.

Thanks TK, but the video looks good on my desktop and when I load it to you tube, it always isn't as clear. Oh well! I love the colors of this caterpillar.
