Ring-billed Gull, nonbreeding adult

Larus delawarensis

Description:

Small gull with a white body. Gray wings. Adults have a yellow beak with a broad black ring. Pale iris and yellow legs.

Habitat:

Smith Point County Park on Fire Island, NY. Seashore and hanging around a freshwater puddle in one of the parking lots.

Notes:

These gulls can be found year round here. They are found regularly in the parking lots at fast food restaurants as well as their natural habitats.
