Pyrosoma atlanticum
Found them washed in thousands, in many Wellington southern beaches...At first I thought it was some kind of sea cucumber, then I made my own research and I ended up with the conclusion that's probably Pyrosomes from the Pyrosoma genus..The smallest ones were about 2-3 cm, the largest spotted, was reaching the 15cm...They were semi- transparent, in white, pink, and beige shades of color, slightly slimy, with no effect in my skin or what ever...In the last picture, all the whitish long spots washed ashore, it's Pyrosomes...
