Orange Sulphur Butterfly

Description:

The Orange Sulphur’s scientific name for this butterfly is Colias Eurytheme. Its family is called the Pieridae. Its wingspan is 1 󠅨⅜ inches – 2 ¾ inches. It eats nectar from Dandelions, Milkweeds, Goldenrods and Asters. The males are orange with a black outline and the females are yellow with a pink outline. Their range is across the USA but not in Florida, Southern Canada to Central Mexico. It lives in a wide variety of mowed Fields and Meadows. The Orange Sulphur can live up to 1 year. A fun fact about Orange Sulphurs is they defend themselves by landing by something the same color.
