Eastern Garter Snake

Thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis

Description:

A beneficial little yard friend to help keep the nasty pests away. This one is very young, possibly the offspring of a very large one found in the same yard a month or two ago.

Habitat:

Found basking where a few small dead branches laid over one another in a thick patch of blackberry, clematis, a.o. brush. This is a mixed forest residential area backyard.
