Blushing Rosette

Abortiporus biennis

Description:

Found growing in the same area as Ganoderma lucidum. Spongy texture and firmness. Grew up through the grass to the point where the grass has been included within the fungus. This is one of two forms that this mushroom species takes. The other form looks more like a traditional mushroom (see mushroomexpert.com reference).

Habitat:

Suburban yard. Growing from decaying Maple tree roots.
