Crimson Speckled Footman

Utetheisa pulchella

Description:

This one has very rich colours of Crimson, Orange and Black patches on a White background. A second one seen in the same area http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/154... is much duller in comparison. Does anyone know if there is any significance of this, such as difference between male and female?

Habitat:

Stony ground by depleted reservoir.

Notes:

I thought this was an appropriate spotting for #2600. The map pin is in the water because the water levels are now so low that it is possible to walk across parts of the reservoir! Also known as Crimson Speckled Flunkey (flunkey is an old English word for footman!)
