Large sized 105ft. Limless trunk. Trunk bark on trunk trees, red-brown or pink to gray.

Habitat:

Drier soils. Somewhat better soils ( fine sands with loamy sands).

Notes:

Has been grown mostly for the production of wood for lumber, piling, poles, cabin logs, railway ties, posts, mine timbers, box boards, pulpwood, fuel.
